Ashley McGirt Adair is a psychotherapist, author, and speaker specializing in racial trauma, crisis response, and racial equity. She speaks on generational trauma and its roots in slavery, as well as the cultural dynamics that shape how Black communities engage with therapy. She also shares her work at the Therapy Fund Foundation–a nonprofit she started–that focuses on removing financial, cultural, and systemic barriers to mental health access. I hope you are feeling more hopeful as the weeks go by. I too have bouts of depression and know the struggle is real. I’m keeping you in my prayers.
I have listened to your show for years and turned family and friend on to you.
I appreciate your episode with Ashley Mcgirt Adair. As a black woman, it is so refreshing to hear another black woman talk about her own struggles. I love the way she incorporates slavery into her talk and drops quite a bit of history that some folks might not be aware of.
And thank you for having people of color on the show periodically. I think adding an array of diversity shows how we are all more alike than we know.
Keep doing what you do. As far as I’m concerned you are the OG of podcasts.
