A Life of Crime – Miller

A Life of Crime – Miller

Miller is one one of Paul’s support group friends. He joins Paul to talk about being on the other side of a chaotic life of crime. After having spent most of his life in a gang and going in and out of prison, he’s turned a corner. He talks about his addiction, his childhood as a gang member, and what it was like, as a prisoner, to fight the California wildfires and be living an honest life today.

This was a fascinating interview about a hugely interesting person who has led a shockingly different life than everyone I know – a smart, gifted, eloquent, funny guy who ended up in a genuinely wild life – albeit one that can’t be condoned. His survival skills and energy were/are astonishing.

He also seems awfully open-minded, which probably helped and hurt in making choices. I agree with what he said about being on the straight but not the narrow. He just is not the narrow type. I sincerely wish that the second half of this gentleman’s life be just a little calmer than the first (and way way less violent).

You have to love his description of North Hollywood – the armpit of the valley and the most exciting place in the valley.

Paul, as usual, is a great interviewer here.

It baffles me that all these people that are close to this man can’t see what’s really going on. Boy would you all be incredibly disappointed if you knew the truth. Miller is funny, Miller has a good heart, Miller helps a lot of people, but Miller is not clean by any means. Miller still wants to be the victim in his story and make his ex out to be the villain while he still has other women on the side. Look closer people. He needs more help.
