#6 Jimmy Pardo

This episode resonated very much with me! (although they are all awesome! ;) )

I've listened to Never Not Funny since day 1 and have been a paid subscriber since. Both the recent NNF episode that Paul was on and the MIHH episode that Jimmy was just on really turned a switch on for me. Having listened all these years, I've found myself relating more now than I ever have before to Jimmy. When he admitted to jogging the halls of the hotel vs. going down to the gym out of fear of embarrassment...I've been that way for as long as I can remember.

As a musician, I've always found it hard to sing in front of people, or let them listen to my music. I'm too embarrassed to run in front of anyone. All that sort of stuff! (Although I'm 1000% fine with performing in front of hundreds of strangers and doing a podcast for a number of people. (the number isn't important  )) I, too, have been told to just be myself and to not try to co-opt my expression by being someone else. There's that constant seeking of approval and not being the guy that everyone says is 'an idiot.'

Since there isn't a separate thread for the NNF episode that Paul was on, I also wanted to bring up that Paul admitted to buying 35k worth of domain names in the 90's, and I can totally see why. Recently I sold quite a bit of Silver now that the market for it has been at an unprecedented high. Once it reached the $30/ounce range I sold them immediately and felt good for a few days...until it broke the record some more and went up to $40/ounce...have to keep reminding myself over and over "Shut it! You doubled your money!" to drown out the voice that says "Oh, but if you did it now you could have gotten X amount instead! Missed opportunity again!"

Even though we miss one train, there's always another that'll arrive at a later time. ;)

Hi ether667,

I have been at buying and selling for over 25 years and know exactly what you are talking about. It is very hard of letting go when you have hindsight.
